Bone Cancer - Symptoms
Bone cancer symptoms vary depending on the tumor's size and location. The most common symptom is bone pain caused by the tumor's size either because it grows progressively, or because it causes the bone to break. At the beginning, the pain is not constant and can be felt only during night or when the bone is used. As the cancer advances, the pain becomes more constant and more intense when the affected bone is constantly used. For example, if the affected bone is in the leg, the patient will start limping. If the tumor develops in or near the joints, the affected area swells.
Other signs and symptoms of bone cancers are:
- Fatigue and fever
- Movement problems
- Stiff bones,
- Bone lumps and masses,
- Bone tenderness,
- Anemia, and
- Weight loss.
However, these symptoms can be caused by other medical conditions and only a physician can establish a correct diagnosis.
