Side effects     

Although side effects from piperacillin are not common, they can occur. Tell your health care provider if any of these symptoms are severe or do not go away:

  • upset stomach
  • diarrhea
  • unpleasant or abnormal taste
  • gas

If you experience any of the following symptoms, call your health care provider immediately:

  • rash
  • itching
  • fever
  • chills
  • facial swelling
  • wheezing
  • difficulty breathing
  • unusual bleeding or bruising
  • dizziness
  • seizures
  • sore mouth or throat
