        In patients with polycystic kidney disease, the cysts will gradually enlarge, causing  pressure damage of the normal functioning kidney tissue, leading to ischemia (decreased blood flow) and anoxia (decreased oxygen delivery) to kidney cells, and induce progression of kidney cell damage and fibrosis (scar tissue).

  Under the continuous influence of cell factor and growth factors stimulated by the chronic inflammation,  the damage of kidney may become accelerated, causing even further decrease in the blood flow (perfusion) to kidney tissue and aggravate the kidney ischemia and anoxia.

  With this chronic inflammation and damage to the normal functioning kidney tissues, the kidneys increase the production of hormones (chemical messengers) which may increase the blood pressure, and also decrease the derived relaxing factor in small vessels causing small blood vessel constriction, which accelerates the decrease in perfusion to the normal kidney tissue.  These chronic changes of cyst enlargement, and decreased perfusion of the small vessels in the kidney tissue leads to permanent hemodynamic changes in the kidney and contribute to chronic hypertension (hypertensive nephropathy).

  The development of hypertensive nephropathy can lead irreversible ischemia and anoxia to the endothelial cell, epithelial cell, mesangial cell and tubules endothelium, stimulate the above mentioned inherent cell transformation as well as inflammatory cell infiltration, which leads to the increasing of mesangial cellularity and extracellular matrix, promote glomerulosclerosis, tubular and renal interstitium fibrosis.  These pathologic processes lead to irreversible impairment in the normal kidney function, leading to elevation of serum creatinine levels, and an increase in protein lost in the urine, known as proteinuria.

  Therefore, treatment of polycystic kidney disease is aimed at the cystic fluid of the polycystic kidney, prohibiting the secretion of cyst fluid, accelerate cyst fluid reabsorption, which are the felt to be important in helping to achieve a decrease in high blood pressure and reverse the process of renal fibrosis.  The experts in Shijiazhuang Kidney Disease Hospital have adopted  Micro-Chinese Medicine Osmotherapy to treat Polycystic Kidney, which is believed to be an effective therapy to treat Polycystic Kidney and is being accepted by more and more patients.
